Stromboli

We started out on an early ferry (a hydrofoil). After cruising past the other Eolian Islands, we disembarked in Stromboli. It is a picturesque little tourist town full of scenic ocean views and white buildings with blue trim. After some gellatto, we climbed Stromboli as the sun was setting. We arrived to the top after a three hour climb. The volcano did not disappoint us an set up a brilliant natural pyrotechnics for us.

Those three photos are unreal! Beautiful composition! I suppose I should be looking at the rocks, though... Thanks for sharing all of the experience: the food, travel, geology, and the people. We miss you John!!
